The Kingfisher take-down recurve is designed and marketted by PSE Archery as an economical bowfishing bow. As anyone who has ever participated in the sport knows, bowfishng can be hard on archery equipment and a fishing bow needs to simple, tough, and reliable. The Kingfisher is all of these things and it is also a suitable bow for general bowhunting and field archery. It is tough enough to spend most if its life boncing around in the back of the ute, carried through ragging rappids, or bounced down a scree slops without suffering andything but superficial damage. In fact, the Kingfishser is probably the toughest full-featured recurve on the market today.
The Kingfisher riser (right-hand only) is cast from solid aluminium and the limbs are one-piece molded fibreglass, which makes the bow bulletproof if not downright indestructible. But in spite of this durability the Kingfisher retains all of the shooting charicteristics of a recurve costing many times as much. It may not look as flash as a $1000 custom-made bow, but who would want to carry a thousand-dollar bow in the back of a ute?
In spite of the low price and tough construction, those of us who appreciate the delight in shooting arrows accurately without the benefit of sights, fancy rests or anything but primal instinct will truly appreciate the joy of traditional shooting with a PSE Kingfisher Recurve .
The PSE Kingfisher makes an excellent entrance-level hunting or field-archery bow. The limbs and riser are constructed from molded fibreglass and finished in PSE's distinctive All-Season camo. NZAP have the Kingfisher in 40-, 45-, and 50-pound draw weights and in right hand only. All sizes are not always in stock so it is best to ring or email for availability.
